Charleston, SC is home to my 5 siblings and I. The old navy Charleston shipyard served as one of my father’s last assignments before retiring from 27 years in the USN. His love for this country and commitment to serve spread to 2 of my siblings and I.
It was an honor to accept the Health Professions Scholarship program (HPSP) allowing me to serve in the USAF as a Captain and General Medical Officer at Barksdale AFB, LA.
I started my career in pediatrics completing an intern categorical pediatrics year at LSU-HSC Shreveport, LA. I soon discovered that I did not want to limit my future practice to just children. I missed caring for ALL ages.
Preventing disease and treatment of chronic illness had to be part of my future practice. I made one of the biggest changes of my career and pursued a career in family medicine.
My husband Alec and I have 4 children and you will likely run in to us at a sporting event around town whether it’s a Riverdogs game, a Battery match, CofC basketball or the Volvo Car Open. We love attending local sporting events!
I enjoy a good run and am waiting to run my 1st marathon. My favorite place to run is the Ravenel Bridge and catching the early sunrise. I also moonlight at urgent care where I’m able to keep up with procedural skills and treating higher acuity, urgent care patients.
